Hirundo Launched a Collection of Carbon-Neutral Sneakers

Hirundo is a Portuguese footwear brand that specializes in eco-friendly solutions. Currently, only 40% of major shoe production companies have sustainability strategies in place. The Portuguese company aims to change this by bringing the world its Sustainable #Slowdown Sneakers.

Hirundo disrupts old shoe production manufacturing models to conceive its own system that uses local materials and local traditional shoe-making skills. The company engineered long-lasting quality products that never see landfills. All the components used to create the Hirundo shoes are locally sourced. Moreover, the leather used is certified by the Leather Working Group, responsible for ethical and environmental standards in leather production. In addition, the shoes are dyed with non-toxic vegetable tan and lined with cork insoles.
