Hibiki Kono Invents an Amazing Device to Climb Walls

Hibiki Kono, who is just 13 years old, has invented a special wall climbing machine to fulfill his dream of becoming Spiderman.

Kono used two 1,400 watt Tesco Value vacuum cleaners, which he bought for £14.98 each, and attached wooden suction pads to their nozzles. The suction pads support his weight, making it possible for him to climb walls.

Hibiki Kono came up with the idea of designing a climbing machine after seeing a similar device in BBC’s 'Bang Goes The Theory' science show. It took the teenager five months to design the gadget.

My mum thinks it’s brilliant but she won’t let me use it in my bedroom as she is worried I may pull down the ceiling." (Hibiki Kono, Cambridge News)
