Prefabricated Urban Homes

The Heijmans One Home is Targeted Towards Young Professionals

The Heijmans ONE is a prefabricated home that is targeted towards young professionals, specifically "the well-educated: between 25 and 35 years old, first job, single, the world at their feet."

The Heijmans ONE package can be transported easily by truck, and one-site installation can be completed in a day. Currently, the home comes with a rooftop solar array that offsets some of the costs associated with harnessing electricity from the grid. However Heijmans is working on making the homes completely energy efficient.

Heijmans is presently testing two Heijman ONE homes, one of which already has a full-time occupant. Testing is set to be completed in March 2015, at which point the concept will be further developed for market, with the first 30 units of the home set to be made available later in the year.
