Lookout Design

Award Winning Wooden Lookout in Norway

This gorgeous wooden lookout is located in Aurland, Norway, overlooking fjords, forests and a small town below. At first glance, and maybe even second glance, one doesn’t see the transparent barrier at the end of the ramp-like structure. I looked and thought – they must be kidding, people would be sliding right over the end of this thing!

The lookout was designed by Todd Saunders & Tommie Wilhelmsen for a Norwegian tourist routes completion which was commissioned by the Norwegian Highway Department. They were the first place winners.

I’d love to hear if anyone has been there before, I’m holding my breath just looking at the images.
