Conducted on a trial basis, the Smart Elderly Monitoring and Alert System requires the installation of sensors in a seniors home; from here, the system learns their habits and will be able to detect a deviation such as if they're spending more time in bed or in the washroom, which could denote a health ailment.

The pilot project by Housing and Development Board allows the children of parents in Singapore to always keep tabs on their parents even when they're unable to come by for a visit.
