Hanyul Red Rice Skin Has an Easy-to-Remove Label for Recyclability

Hanyul Red Rice Skin is a packaging innovation that has been recognized as an iF Design Award 2021 winner and it features an eco-friendly design with plant-derived materials and a removable labeling system.

The product itself is made by fermenting brown rice twice for 15 days. The skincare solutions are housed within bio PET containers with 26.5% plant-derived materials, and containers that are intentionally not colored or coated. Thanks to a removable label, the products are easy to properly recycle at the end of their usable life.

The packaging system has the potential to inspire many other kinds of designs outside of the realm of skincare and personal care, especially at a time when consumers are just as conscious of product packaging waste as they are ingredients, formulas and efficacy.
