Handle-Activated Doorstops

The Hand Door Stopper is Perfect for Disabled Individuals

The Hand Door Stopper is a clever contraption that allows people to activate a built-in doorstop by simply using the door handle. Although some may believe that it is made for the lazy person, it could easily be implemented into the homes of disabled individuals. The mere act of bending over to insert a typical doorstop or even using a foot to slide it under may be impossible or incredibly difficult for some.

Designed by Yu-Jin Kim, Jong-Chan Mun, Joon-Ki Park and Eun-Ji Yoo, the Hand Door Stopper drops the doorstop securely to the floor when the handle is pushed down. This concept was deemed so useful that it is a 2011 Sparks Award winning entry.
