Grease-Absorbing Plates

These Plates Absorb the Excess From Greasy Food for Healthier Meals

As much as greasy food can be absolutely delicious, it also isn't the best for your health, especially if it's something you are consuming on a regular basis. Ad agency BBDO Bangkok partnered with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation to develop these grease-absorbing plates, which are designed specifically to deal with the excess oil often found in Thai food.

The AbsorbPlate tackles the issue of obesity as well as its related health conditions by separating surplus oil in greasy food. This is a particularly pressing problem as Thailand has the second highest rate of obesity in Southeast Asia. The plate has 500 small holes that collect the grease in a sponge-like manner. This allows the AbsorbPlate to capture 7mL of grease, or 30 calories worth.
