Infinite Virtual 3D Libraries

Google WebGL Bookcase is a Never-Ending Helix of Titles

For bookworms, there probably isn't anything better than an infinite bookshelf! With the Google WebGL Bookcase, Google has revamped its digital books platform in the form of a never-ending 3D helix. This is essentially a 3D virtual spiral bookcase that offers book-lovers like you and me the ability to browse and browse and browse...

The Google WebGL Bookcase, which can be operated from any Internet-connected device, contains more than 10,000 titles from Google Books, says TechNewsDaily, and organizes them into 28 different topics such as Children's books, Free Books and New Arrivals. After you've selected a topic, the spiral shelf spins to that section and you can then select a book off of the 3D shelf. Now you can read the book's synopsis and click to buy, if you wish. The Google WebGL Bookcase also lets you spin the spiral shelf whichever way -- up, down, right, left -- you want via your mouse, touch screen or track pad.
