The Google Sketchbots are part of a new exhibit that has been launched at London's Science Museum. These robots will actually draw a picture of your face by using your webcam and web browser!
How it works: Your webcam will take a picture of you and then one of the Google Sketchbots will illustrate your face in sand with the results being displayed on a live video feed. The installation demonstrates the possibilities of physical interaction through the use of your web browser to connect to a completely separate apparatus.
The Google Sketchbots are part of the search engine's Chrome Web Lab, which is all about demonstrating the amazing capabilities of the Internet. According to the Chrome Web Lab creative director Steve Vranakis, the web "powers our lives everyday, allows us to explore the globe and lets us communicate with friends the world over. Until now, all this magic has remained locked behind our screens."
