The go-e ONwheel is a contraption that hangs beneath your bicycle to give it an electric boost, in an arrangement quite unique from the typical motorized wheels and electric bicycle motors.
The ONwheel is a motor itself, but what's unique about it is that it is mounted on the position where the two chainstays meet the bottom bracket, an area where you normally see a kickstand. The gadget comes with a special sensor that detects when the rider starts to pedal, and automatically moves the go-e ONwheel's swinging arm into place.
This setup allows the bicycle's rider to enjoy powered assistance, the exact proportion of which can be manipulated using either a hard-wired handlebar control unit or via a smartphone app. The app can be used to decide the output and assisted speed of the motor, allowing for a whole new level of control over the bicycle's electric assist boost.
