Hairy Spiders Adorn Giles Deacon Spring 2010 Collection

Calling the Giles Deacon Spring 2010 show at Paris Fashion Week a whimsical one may be an extreme understatement. For his Parisian debut—and the first show after his highly acclaimed ANDAM prize—the anticipated designer sent models down the runway with fake tarantulas nestled between cleavage and youthful (very youthful) dinosaur shoulder bags.

Kicking off the Giles Deacon Spring 2010 collection was Daphne Guinness, who sported a lime minidress complete with a hairy black spider breast ornament. The show continued with more cleavage-occupying arachnids, tarantula-themed tees and dresses, plush dino purses, and generous amounts of orange eye shadow. Overall, the collection seemed to blend Halloween and spring together—which may or may not work for you, depending on your age.
