Austin Stern and Alex Proba Join Forces on the Gelée Series

Alex Proba works in collaboration with glass artist Austin Stern on the new Gelée Series. There are five artful structures that make up the series -- all of which are unique to their own. Every single piece represents several types of candy and it gets its name from the use of Gelée glass. When it is in the liquid stage, the material takes on the look of liquid goo.

The series is made in Seattle, Washington and the two bring forth their own design languages to the capsule. Each one is made by filling a shell that is made from patterned colored glass with clear glass at the interior. Some of the structures are full color and others have dynamic stripes.
