San Francisco is Not the Gayest U.S. City of Them All

When most Americans think of 'gay cities,' San Francisco is probably at the top of their list, but according to Mike Albo, San Francisco doesn’t even rank in the top 15 gayest U.S. cities.

Using a number of criteria including the number of same-sex couple households per capita, elected gay officials, statewide marriage equality, and habits and services within specific zip codes, the list of gay cities may not be what you’d expect.

Among the top-ranked gay-friendly cities are Albuquerque, N.M.; Austin, Texas;  Iowa City, Iowa, and at the top of the list, Atlanta, Georgia.
