Gatorade Juiced Targets Pre-Adolescent Athletes

High-performance sports drinks often have refreshing fruit flavors but Gatorade is putting a new spin on this idea with Gatorade Juiced, a juice-based sports drink. The sports drinks boast the same level of electrolytes as regular Gatorade and are produced in flavors like Mixed Berry, Apple Raspberry and Citrus Berry Punch. Notably, the refreshingly different sports beverages are free of artificial colors, sweeteners and flavors, and each ready-to-drink bottle contains just 40 calories.

As Gatorade Senior VP and General Manager Brett O’Brien reported to Beverage-Digest, the products were formulated for "tween-aged kids running up and down a soccer field in 90-degree heat" who are "just getting into sports in a more aggressive way" and often enjoy celebratory post-game juice boxes.
