DEKA, the global fitness racing brand created by the team behind Spartan, has announced the launch of Gym vs Gym — a worldwide functional fitness competition that will take place from October 2nd to 4th, 2026. This initiative will see DEKA affiliate gyms across the globe race the exact same DEKA MILE format over one synchronized weekend.
DEKA's Gym vs Gym functional fitness competition is positioned as the first global competition designed specifically for fitness communities rather than individual athletes. The format centers exclusively on the DEKA MILE, which combines ten standardized fitness zones with 160-meter running intervals. Movements include rowing, SkiErg, weighted lunges, farmers carries, tank push and pull, wall overs, burpees, and box step-overs.
Ultimately, Gym vs Gym measures collective performance by calculating results using the average DEKA Marks recorded across Age Group and Team categories.
