This Artist Creates Intricate Sculptures from Daily Food Items

These fruit-carved sculptures are so detailed that they almost look like real faces.

Italian sculptor Valeriano Fatica makes these pieces of art using perishable food items and the result is intricate and often realistic creations of beings -- both real and mystical. The fruit-carved sculptures are usually made from watermelons but the sculptor also occasionally uses cheese, vegetables, fruit, clay and rock to create some of his work. A video showing the process of creating one of these sculptures reveals the talents of this artist, as it shows him creating a realistic model of the 'Night King' from HBO hit series Game of Thrones with only a watermelon.

These artistic sculptures are proof that creativity knows no bounds when it comes to art.
