The Freak Show Project by Simon Birch Uses Everyday Objects

Aptly titled, the Freak Show Project is pretty freaky. Yet it is freaky in a way that is quite unexpected. That is because the term "freak show" often comes with visions of dark carnivals, bizarre beasts and odd humans. In this case, the Freak Show Project is filled with humans made odd due to the eccentric costumes they have donned in the name of art.

Created by Hong Kong-based artist Simon Birch, the Freak Show Project may look to be comprised of solely sculptures, but beneath the mass use of everyday materials lies a real live person. Participating men and women have been covered in such ordinary objects as steel wool, cable ties, black high density foam as well as mixtures of stockings, balloons and water. The result is definitely freaky.
