The Foundation SPF 22 by Clé de Peau Beauté Features Mastiha Tree Extract

After three years and 255 iterations, The Foundation SPF 22 by Clé de Peau Beauté is reformulated and ready for purchase. This luxe skin-protecting foundation has been enhanced with a curious new ingredient, extract from the sap of the mastiha tree from the Greek island of Chios. This extract is isolated by the brand using a carbon dioxide method that helps to preserve its potent antioxidant and elasticity-boosting properties.

The pore-blurring, medium-coverage foundation can be found in 15 shades, and its potent ingredients also mean that it has the potential to double as an anti-aging cream. Some of the other luxe and natural additions include Japanese prickly ash, thyme, and chestnut rose extract.

Ms. Saito Makiko, manager of the brand’s makeup development group, notes, "Most foundations use powder pigment to cover the skin. Instead of covering imperfections, The Foundation utilizes Blur Perfection Technology to diffuse them."
