British mobile network operator and internet service provider EE is turning Wembley Stadium into a giant foosball table for a live foosball tournament with the aid of augmented reality and 5G technology. The tournament is kicking off to help promote the Samsung S21 and from the side, team members will be able to navigate the ball across the pitch to make goals.
Although the action usually happens on the pitch itself, teams will compete from their stands using their smartphones for the event. For the tournament, there will be celebrity competitors joining Team Yellow and Team Aqua, including personalities such as former rugby player Ugo Monye, England football player Fara Williams and YouTuber Elz the Witch.
