Flattened Floral Fashion

Fendi Rosettes for Spring 2009

Perhaps Karl Lagerfeld packed these floral Fendi dresses too tightly in his suitcase. Or maybe he forgot his steamer at home. Perhaps what we are seeing is a new fashion trend - squished rosette covered fashions.

These fresh, nude coloured dresses, boleros and clutch purses decorated with the pink roses shout spring, but the yawning models make me wonder. I think the jury is still out on this collection.

Implications - With so many dark styles emerging in the modern sphere, consumers are looking for softer designs. Female shoppers are no longer looking for edgy aesthetics but desire styles that are more subtle. Designers could focus on this need for simpler choices in order to increase their level of shoppers.
