Fitbit Tiny Clip-on Personal Fitness Tracker Has Arrived (UPDATE)

Trend Hunter first reported on the Fitbit fitness tracker in December 2008. The tiny personal fitness tracking device went public in September 2008, so has been on its way to delivery for just over a year.

The Fitbit uses a a 3D motion sensor like the one in the Nintendo Wii to track the wearer’s motion in 3-D to collect body movement data. The data is then converted into useful information like your calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled and sleep quality.

Pre-orders are being accepted and shipping begins in January 2010.
