3D-Printed Face Masks

Facade Urbane Transforms Ordinary Air-Filtering Masks Into Art

Façade Urbane is introducing a series of fashion-forward face mask designs that are created with 3D printing. These intricate origami-inspired designs were created with the help of 3D design and printing firm J-CAD Inc., which reports: "These molds would be virtually impossible to manufacture without 3D printing and if possible would cost a fortune."

Each striking 3D-printed face mask design takes about four and a half hours to produce, but the finished product is a design that's highly breathable, comfortable and extremely expressive. As of now, Façade Urbane hopes to advance its creations with a crowdfunding campaign.

Air filtration or surgical face masks have become necessities in many parts of the world where air quality is a concern. As well as appearing on the streets, face masks occasionally show up as accessories in avant-garde runway shows.
