Evercar is a newly launched car rental service that provides electric vehicles for ride-sharing drivers. The service is meant to cater to on-demand drivers who do not have regular access to a vehicle or simply want to avoid adding additional miles to their own vehicle.
Evercar is operated by a Los Angeles-based company called 'Vision Fleet,' which operates the largest public fleet of electric vehicles in the US. With the new service in place, on-demand drivers working for companies such as Uber, Lyft, Postmates or Instacart can rent out an electric vehicle to use for ride-sharing purposes. For just $5 per house, drivers will receive vehicle access, unlimited miles, electricity insurance, parking, cleaning and other maintenance.
