The NFL and EA Will Streamline the eSports Schedule with the NFL

Madden NFL 20 will align its eSports schedule with the upcoming NFL season, as a result of an agreement between the NFL and EA. The NFL's VP of Gaming and eSports Rachel Hoagland spoke on the decision, "We view eSports as a key accelerant to growing the NFL. It enables new ways for young fans to engage in the sport through Madden NFL competition." This means that both EA and the NFL have an interest in bringing in cross viewership and streamlining the eSports' schedule with the NFL schedule would help to achieve this.

EA has also stated that the Madden NFL 19 bowl had a record-high number of views. As a result, EA has increased the number of spots available for users to enter the tournament. Madden NFL 20 is set for an August 2nd launch, with preorders getting access three days prior.
