Custom Electric Violins

Stepan Ignatovich's ElViolin Takes Inspiration From a Fiddle

Fusing the form of a fiddle with an electric violin, scientist and 3D printing enthusiast Stepan Ignatovich created the ElViolin.

After finding a 3D printing pattern for the F-F-Fiddle on Thingverse and taking up the violin, this inventor sought to push his 3D modeling and printing skills. After finding challenges with the filaments in his first iterations of his printed musical instruments, Ignatovich decided to completely transform the shape of the electric violin.

The newer and simpler form took less than a month to craft and is now available for download through Thingverse should you want to attempt making a musical instrument of your own. As far as how the sound compares to a traditional violin design, it seems identical.
