The El Capitan Ekoa Guitar is Made of High Performance Composites

The El Capitan Ekoa is an acoustic guitar, constructed by Blackbird Guitars, that is the first guitar to be made from Ekoa -- a high-quality composite made of low-density linen. The instrument was unveiled at the National Association of Music Merchants show in Anaheim, California.

This small jumbo acoustic guitar offers players a tone and vibe reminiscent of guitars made from vintage wood. The use of natural fiber composite offers dual-direction stiffness, which ensures that players can enjoy "unmatched ynamic response, old-school feel and a worry-free playing experience."

The El Capitan Ekoa features a double-top soundboard on its unibody back, a 20-fret neck, head stock and plate all made from Ekoa. Its hollow 25.5-inch scale neck is reinforced with carbon-steel trussrod. It will be available from March for just short of $3000.
