NFL player-turned-actor, Terry Crews has collaborated with Bernhardt to produce a line of Egyptian-inspired furniture.
Claiming to see "no difference between being an athlete and being an artist," Crews studied interior design under the mentorship of Ini Archibong in Milan before co-founding a design label with fashion designer Nana Boateng dubbed Amen&Amen.
Crews aimed to break out of the European design bubble and became enthralled with ancient Egyptian concepts following a viewing of his favorite film, The Ten Commandments. Crews' three-piece collection consists of a group of benches, whose flat surface was inspired by the flat stones of the Nile River; a table dubbed Lily Pad after the ancient Egyptian symbol; and an Ibis Sofa, designed after the ancient Egyptians' sacred bird.
When designing the collection, Crews aimed to give a "viewpoint that no one else would have."
