Studio Drift Performed a Drone Show in Place of Burning Man Festival

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Burning Man festival was cancelled this year and replaced with a drone show. Acting as the unofficial Burning Man festival, the drones were coordinated by Studio Drift. To add to the unofficial festivities, a mirrored orb designed by architecture studio BIG was also created.

The Amsterdam-based Studio Drift put on three drone shows. Located at the Renegade Man festival in Nevada, the presentations took place after the official Burning Man festival was cancelled. To create a playful light installation, the company used hundreds of drones for the occasion and dubbed the performance the Done Stories. The goal was to create a meaningful performance to connect people in a socially distanced world.
