Ultra-Cozy Wooden House Extensions

Rise Design Studio Uses Douglas Fir Wood for This Home

Douglas Fir wood is the material of choice for architectural firm Rise Design Studio who was tasked to conceptualize and complete this home extension in London. The development bears the name of the 'Douglas House' — a name with roots that can be easily traced.

The residence consists of a total of three levels and Rise Design Studio extended all of them, utilizing Douglas Fir wood. Given the nature of the material, the interior and exterior of the house exude a comfort-focused aesthetic. In addition, the architectural firm infused certain elements that will contribute to the peaceful quality of life. That is, the designers took it upon themselves to install playfully cozy reading nooks in the windows.
