Studio Onu Designs the Dom Las in a Polish Forest

A basel-based architectural practice Studio Onu is the mind behind the design of the Dom Las, which is a Polish translation that reads Forest House. It fused together elements of local craft blended with agricultural aesthetics and created the space with inspiration from the regional location to create a space that would feel "in harmony" with its surroundings.

Founder of Studio Onu, Kuba Tomaszczyk speaks to Dezeen about the project, stating that "In today's world, it's becoming increasingly rare to come across traditional Kashubian houses that embody the archetypical inspiration for this project. Many of the existing homes are either run-down, abandoned, or soon to be replaced with new developments," he added. "I strongly believe that for this local culture to survive, it needs to be updated."
