DNA-Inspired Stools

The Crick Chair Resembles a String of Deoxyribonucleic Acid When Stacked

If you were to buy just one DNA-inspired stool, you would completely miss out on the scientific influence behind it. One single lonely seating object looks like an adorable piece of furniture, but it's taken out of context.

When Pedro Feduchi created the Crick Stool, he was intending it to be purchased as a collection of many and kept in a stacked arrangement when not in use. It can be easily assembled and taken apart by using the three finger holes as handles. The resultant pile of perches forms a twisting composition, with the thick wooden legs looking like strands and the rounded footings providing a molecular visual reference, and suggesting the shape of a helix. The product was named after Francis Crick, one of the discoverers of DNA.
