The Canadian photographer collected plastic figurines like dinosaurs and jungle creatures from the bargain store to create his series 'Dollar Store.' These cheap finds were the basis for his series, taking inexpensive materials and turning them into stellar Pop Art photographs.
Paillé transforms the creatures by dipping them in a solid color of paint or mutating them with strange plastic attachments that have been fused to the bodies of the figurines. Some of the animals have heads that seem to be melting into the ground and others have strange coral-like growths coming from their hind quarters. Paired with backgrounds with highly saturated colors, Paillé's dollar store finds take on a new shape as artistic pieces.
