Electrifying Digital Condoms

The 'Electric Eel' digital condom is set to make your typical romp in the hay a little more hi-tech. The prototype was conceived and designed by Firaz Peer and Andrew Quitmeyer, who are seeking to rid the condom of its less-than-favorable reputation as a "necessary evil."

The Eel is constructed from a conducive fabric that allows electric impulses, controlled by a Lilypad micro-controller to pass through the underside of the shaft in order to increase stimulation.

While the technicality of the device may seem a little intimidating, and perhaps overwhelming at first, Peer and Quimeyer hope that it will be intriguing enough to raise their $10,000 Indiegogo campaign goal. And while it certainly has the potential to improve sexual sensation for men, the digital condom might have female participants scratching their heads as to how it will better enhance their experience.
