Dianelle Kroll Designs Packaging Drawing from Chinese and Polish Culture

The Polish tea manufacturer Zodiac Tea recruited the talents of designer Danielle Kroll to craft fresh new packaging for the established brand. Taking the tea’s namesake and place of origin into consideration, Kroll drew on Chinese tradition and Polish aesthetics to create this unique packaging design.

Danielle Kroll seamlessly melds the aesthetic and cultural traditions of China and Poland in this clever and unexpected packaging design. Each variety of tea is identified by a different animal from the Chinese Zodiac. The animals are rendered in a style reminiscent of traditional Polish paper cuts as a nod to the tea’s country of origin. The brightly colored tea bags are also housed inside an intricately decorated round box that mimics a Chinese Zodiac Wheel.

Complete with a punchy palette and a whole lot of personality, the Zodiac Tea packaging offers an intriguing cultural mashup.
