Instructables User ASCAS' Device Charger Resides in a Shoe

The Electricity Generating Footwear by Instructables user ASCAS is a DIY device charger project for crafty individuals who can't keep up with the battery demands of in their devices while on the go. But instead of running home to get a charge, this device charger can be fit inside of a shoe and when you walk, you generate electricity.

The DIY charger is made as part of an insole and it generates enough power to charge up batteries and USB devices. ASCAS has spelled out all of the instructions for making one of these chargers with 15 steps on Instructables. ASCAS' project has been a work in progress for five years and it will be a worthy contender as part of Google's 2014 Science Fair.
