The 'Desert Pavilion' Concept is Inspired by Magnetic Forces

The 'Desert Pavilion' concept is a modern sculptural architecture example that aims to offer visitors protection from the sun as well as a comfortable spot to meet with friends or family. The building is the design work of the Middle East Architecture Network (MEAN) architecture firm and draws design inspiration from magnetic fields to give it an almost otherworldly aesthetic. This is achieved thanks to a series of 3D-printed panels that have been deployed onto a CNC bent steel pipe system that gives the structure a tent-like aesthetic that provides exotic natural light, place for plants and more.

The design team behind the 'Desert Pavilion' concept spoke on its aesthetic saying, "We used the patterns emerging from the interaction of one space to another, to develop the floor plan of the pavilion. The physical phenomena of the magnetic force patterns between a number of nodes represent an opportunity for an interesting planning strategy."
