Dauphinette's Spring/Summer Collection Explores Fragile Materials

Dauphinette’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection explores how the egg can be perceived as a symbol of life. The campaign, which is shot in a church setting with stained glass windows, features models in the brand’s innovative and avant-garde seasonal garments. For this collection, founder Olivia Cheng relies on the concept of fragility to convey an overall delicate and precious aesthetic.

Quirky items like croissant and baguette handbags emphasize the delicate nature of the collection. Highlights include a feather top, multi-layered wooden skirt, and a hand-sewed menswear-inspired suit with 12,000 mother of pearl buttons.

"While it wasn’t my intention at the outset to primarily work with precious materials, "Fragile" is a reflection of my state of mind at the time we were creating and developing it. A lot of the items I gravitated towards are delicate and precious in nature. For instance, we used a variety of eggs from chickens, quails, emus and robins," said Cheng.
