Stacked Box Abodes

Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects Designs a House with Rectangular Themes

When coming up with an extension design for an already built abode in Auckland, New Zealand, Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects decided to opt for a rectangular theme. The result was two box-like structures stacked directly on top of the other.

The designs by Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects are similar to large wooden containers, however the floor-to-ceiling windows ensure the look is more upscale than it sounds. This wood design blends perfectly with the surroundings of the house, as it's situated in nature complete with trees and even a view of the sea from the top floor. The interior continues with this same design, but is altered with a lighter wood finishing on both the floors and even the ceiling in certain parts. It would be hard not to feel at ease in a house this spacious and eco-friendly. Photo Credits: designboom, ccca.co.nz
