LLI Design Offers a Modern House in London

LLI Design has created an inspirational, welcoming home in North London, with this 3000 square foot townhouse in Crouch End.

Making maximum use of the natural light, with its double height living space and floor to ceiling glazing, which opens onto the garden below, the house has a magnificent airy feel and exudes drama.

The key is in its internal arrangement: the living / kitchen / dining area and the formal living room above, form a flowing open plan space, which links upper and ground floor levels via a walnut feature staircase. A spiraling contemporary chandelier links the two levels visually to give the interior extra drama.

LLI Design incorporated comfortable well-scaled furniture, so that it wouldn't feel dwarfed by the large open space.

To contrast with all the white in the kitchen / dining area, the kitchen has a black central island, lacquered furniture and wire Bertoia dining chairs. The kitchen area also has views to the garden.

Sleek, large format tiles were used for all of the ground floor and extended to the outside terrace to visually extend the dining area and integrate the internal and external living spaces.
