The Costume Collection Defies Expectations of Material Composition

Most of the time, people approach different physical and experiential aspects of daily life with a screen of expectation. The Costume Collection is a quirky set of furnishings, causing one to shed this filter of familiarity to discover the true nature of what lies before him. For instance, you're probably used to seeing chairs with fabric cushions and footstools made of wood, but this is not what you're given by designer Jongho Park.

This series of eccentric objects comprises a clawfoot-supported seat with an apparent diamond quilted texture. But the abrupt edges and perfectly flat surfaces are actually constructed of iron. The same is true of the subtly curved timber ottoman, as its woodgrain finish has been laser-etched in metal. A light fixture with a hard lampshade completes the Costume Collection.
