The product, made entirely of composite glass, offers users superior protection while enabling enhanced optical performance for professional-quality photographs and videos.
First released in 2018, this updated model of the Gorilla Glass offers improved display readability and higher contrast ratios. Particularly key to this upgrade is the implementation of a unique, scratch-resistant anti-reflective coating. Anti-reflective coatings "have a propensity to scratch easily, negatively impacting image quality," said Jaymin Amin, vice president of corning, which is why the company has worked hard to solve this problem.
With the release of this updated Gorilla Glass, it appears that Corning remains a leader in the niche space of high-end, physical phone add-ons.
