The home is located in Melbourne, Australia and is designed in such a way that the old and new components can be clearly distinguished from one another, while still intricately maintaining a complementary relationship.
The refurbishment process is based on an existing heritage building. Dubbed St Vincents Place Residence, B. E Architecture worked from "the front facade's 200-millimeter-thick masonry wall" to create a design-friendly and livable contemporary Victorian house for the owner. The redesign boasts four levels, including a sizable rooftop terrace and a basement. Clean, minimalist and timeless, the modern elements integrate themselves seamlessly into the Victorian narrative.
