Lunch Bag Light Shades

B.lux's Cone Light Collection is Inspired by Craft Paper Bags

Werner Aisslinger's Cone Light collection takes inspiration from an unusual area of industrial design. The lights, which Aisslinger designed for lighting manufacturer B.lux, are shaped like paper bags that commonly carried people's lunches throughout the earlier part of the 20th century.

There are two light fixtures in the Cone Light collection: Cone Light S, a pendant lamp, and Cone Light W, a wall fixture. The two lamp shades are effectively the same size and shape, with the major distinction being the copper metallic pole that guides the wiring for the Cone Light S.

The lamp shades are made from vitrified translucent porcelain, a delicate material also known as bone china. That porcelain is covered in a textured, matte white glaze, blocking any light from penetrating it and directing the lamp's glow downward.
