Metropolis-Themed Typefaces

Jarrik Muller's Series of Conceptual Fonts Are Based off of Cities

Illustrator Jarrik Muller recently put together several conceptual font designs that are geared to representing different cities by encapsulate different urban areas in surrealist designs that pay tribute to the aesthetic of the locations. The collection of fonts are known as Citype and are each unique in their own right, representing different parts of the world by drawing on inspiration from the local art and design.

The Citype fonts capture the look and aesthetic of different cities through digital design in a way that other illustrators and designers can further build off of by embedding the fonts into their own creative works. The fonts vary in style depending on which city they represent, for example the typeface for Amsterdam draws inspiration from the homes along the water line.
