Nest-Like Glass Vases

Ron Arad Designs the Set of Concentrics Vases for Turkish Glass Label Nude

London-based industrial designer Rob Arad creates a series of vases for contemporary Turkish glass label Nude entitled 'Concentrics.' The vases resemble a nest of tables, as they are designed to slot inside one another. The Concentrics set is comprised of four vases in total and this marks Arad and Nude's second time collaborating on glass pieces. This time, Arad creates vessels that are blown into fluid silhouettes in order to raise the height and decrease the circumference so that the they can nest within one another.

The four Concentrics vases are constructed from crystal-clear glass using a manufacturing technique called "çeşm-i bülbül," which translates to "eye of the nightingale" in Turkish. What this does is it wraps colored glass rods around the melted glass to create a swirled design in a diagonal pattern.
