Artist Colleen Clark Illustrates a New Vision of Barbies

After being approached by Marie Claire South Africa to draw "what a feminist Barbie might look like," artist Colleen Clark came with the idea of drawing a line of dolls that were representative of many different types of women.

For her feminist Barbie illustrations, Colleen Clark was inspired by "the idea that feminism is as simple as accepting others and yourself unconditionally." To that end, Clark believed that a feminist doll line wouldn't just have one look but rather many that would be indicative of all the different body types, culture, and styles that are out there.
