Unaligned Unconventional Lodgings

Cocoon Suites Twist to Typical Hotel Rooms

The Cocoon Suites add a twist to your typical hotel room thanks to KLab Architecture, who has redesigned 13 out of the 57 suites in the Hotel Andronikos on Mykonos Island in Greece. This hotel was originally built in 1990, but the suites have been updated to embody what a modern-day Mykonian room would look like with some distortion.

The rooms follow simple concepts with fluid and clear lines, but guests feel an element of confusion because the wall dimensions and furniture are both unaligned. Each room has crooked lines of pebbles through the floor and walls, and bamboo that lines the ceiling, closet and walls. This creates a calming environment amidst the sandy beaches and rocky desert terrain of Mykonos. After re-designing the rooms, KLab imparted a new, luxurious sense into the space.
