Floating Cloud Installations

Antipode by Berndnaut Smilde is on in London, England

When it comes to cloud installations, Berndnaut Smilde is a mastermind behind executing these designs to the utmost perfection. His latest series is titled Antipode, which is on display now at the Ronchini Gallery in London.

Smilde manages to create extremely realistic clouds through a combination of smoke machines, timing and taking that perfect photo. The clouds are not permanent, and eventually disintegrate, so the artist has set up his machines to create these clouds throughout the day for visitors to admire. One of his most memorable works featuring these clouds was for Harpers Bazaar, which used the designs alongside photos of Karl Lagerfeld and Donatella Versace. The result was a stunning photoshoot, with the cloud installations adding a whimsical element to the entire series.

The Antipode series is on until June 14th in London.Photo Credits: designboom, berndnaut.nl
