Molson recently teamed up with Google to design a clever fridge that only unlocks when users utter the phrase "I am Canadian." Playing off of Molson's longtime slogan, the new fridge is part of a campaign to help celebrate Canada's national birthday on July 1st.
Borrowing technology from Google, Molson designed a beer fridge that only unlocks via voice translation. The clever fridge uses Google’s Speech Recognition API to identify voice input in a multitude of different languages. The fridge is designed to only unlock when it recognizes users saying the phrase: "I Am Canadian." Once users say these magic words, the fridge will open to reveal a plethora of Molson Canadian beers.
While the fridge is currently part of a promotional campaign, it will appear in functional form this summer to celebrate the PanAm games in Toronto.
